Mississippi weather can turn in an afternoon. If your party is a few days out and the forecast starts showing rain, here is how it usually plays out with us, and what you can do to keep the day on track.
When we make the call
We watch the forecast with you. Most of the time we decide together the day before, once the hourly forecast settles down. Light, passing showers are often fine for a tent and tables. Steady rain, lightning or strong wind are not fine for inflatables, and that call is about safety, not convenience.
Wind matters more than rain
A bounce house can handle a little drizzle once it is up and anchored. Wind is the real problem. Manufacturers set a wind limit for every inflatable, and when gusts get close to it we take the unit down and everyone gets out. If the forecast shows sustained wind, plan on moving the date.
- Check the hourly forecast for gusts, not just the daily summary.
- Have an indoor backup for the kids, even just a movie and snacks.
- Keep our number handy on the day so we can talk it through.
Moving the date
If the weather is not safe for inflatables, we work with you on a new date. Call us as soon as you know your options so we can hold the rentals for you.
Tents are your friend
If you are worried about a hot sun or a light shower, a tent over the food and seating keeps the party going. It is often the one rental that saves the day.
